← Insurance Verification, AnsweredHow should I pilot a benefits verification tool?
Pick twenty to fifty real upcoming patients across your main payers and procedures. Have the tool verify each and produce an estimate. Collect on the estimate, or record it. When the EOBs arrive, compare. Measure three things: estimate accuracy against the EOB, the share of verifications that needed a phone call, and how long each took. Four weeks is enough.
Avoid pilots on sample or historical data; they test the demo, not the product. Insist on your own fee schedules being loaded, since accuracy without them is meaningless. And ask the vendor to show you the low-confidence cases, not just the clean ones, because how those are handled is what you will live with.
